Enabling CHWs with AI & digital tools for quality care

The HealthPulse AI SDK is embedded in Fionet Suite, a mobile health platform connecting community health workers, clinics, and central health systems - to be used by over 58,000 community health workers (CHWs) and over 1,000 Health Posts in Rwanda. HealthPulse AI augments Fionet Suite with AI-powered interpretation of rapid diagnostic tests, enabling quality assurance checks, disease surveillance, and supportive supervision for community health workers.

The scale-up is informed by evidence from a pilot, in partnership with RBC & Jhpiego, where 200 CHWs used Audere’s HealthPulse app to ensure treatment guideline adherence through malaria RDT administration support and result digitization. After using the app, CHWs improved their identification of positive results from faint visible lines by over 72%. Real-time app data was found useful for supervisors to monitor program outcomes and identify individual CHWs needing support.
