Self-Care from Anywhere: powered by Audere Africa

An interoperable, evidence-based multi-modal AI platform for HIV prevention, treatment, sexual and reproductive health, primary health, mental health and self-care — built through rigorous implementation research, co-designed with communities, and validated for national scale. The Self-Care from Anywhere platform is a customisable, multilingual, locally contextual AI infrastructure — supporting HIV prevention, treatment adherence, SRH, mental health, GBV, and TB across southern Africa.

Self-Care from Anywhere is Audere's answer: a customisable, multilingual, locally contextual AI platform for HIV prevention, treatment adherence, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, GBV, and TB — deployed in partnership with national Ministries of Health.

Every programme on the platform is underpinned by the same rigorous research framework — from community co-design through to national validation — ensuring safety, accuracy, and contextual relevance at every stage.

It is not a pilot. Actively deployed across public health systems in partnership with national Ministries of Health.


Self-Cav: AI lifestyle companion for HIV, SRH, & mental health

In partnership with South Africa’s National Department of Health (NDoH) and SHOUT-IT-NOW, Audere has developed Self-Cav, a confidential and judgment-free lifestyle AI companion available on WhatsApp. Self-Cav provides easy access to reliable guidance on sexual and mental health, HIV prevention and treatment, and pathways to care. The service is co-designed, developed, and maintained with community members, advocacy organizations, the NDoH BWise campaign and team, community and public health delivery partners, and Department of Education collaborators.

Self-Cav runs on Audere’s shared Self-Care platform including AI services, clinician tools, hybrid monitoring and evaluation framework, and secure backend. The common platform allows continuous improvement informed by co-design, studies, and live program learning, while keeping costs lower and reliability higher than standalone tools.

Implementation and research partners include Wits RHI, Higher Health, Shout-it-Now, CHAPS, and more. This shared platform enables cost-effective, shared resources to support the growing population of youth across South Africa coming to Self-Cav for advice, support, and information to power their own health journeys.

Coach Mpilo: AI health coach supporting HIV prevention, treatment adherence, and retention with psychosocial support built-in

In partnership with South Africa's National Department of Health (NDoH) and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health (KZN DoH), PSI, Wits Health Consortium, and a range of partners in South Africa - Audere has developed Coach Mpilo, a confidential and judgment-free lifestyle AI companion available on WhatsApp. Coach Mpilo provides easy access to reliable guidance on sexual and mental health, HIV prevention and treatment, and pathways to care. The service is co-designed, developed, and maintained with community members, advocacy organizations, the NDoH and KZN DoH teams, and community and public health delivery partners like HST, ensuring it reflects the needs and realities of the people it serves.

Coach Mpilo runs on Audere's shared Self-Care platform including AI services, clinician tools, a hybrid monitoring and evaluation framework, and a secure backend. The common platform allows continuous improvement informed by co-design, studies, and live program learning, while keeping costs lower and reliability higher than standalone tools.

Through close collaboration with national and provincial health authorities, this shared platform enables cost-effective, shared resources to support the growing population of people across KwaZulu-Natal and South Africa coming to Coach Mpilo for advice, support, and information to power their own health journeys.
